Ready to Roll - What's Next
The Academy of Business and Finance at North Kingstown High School was established in the fall of 2016. The Academy is accredited and supported by the “National Academy Foundation” a nationally recognized organization in industry and academia.
Students entering the academy are exposed to a comprehensive variety of integrated courses focused on business management, business economics, and finance with an opportunity to earn certification in financial literacy per the Rhode Island General Treasurer’s Financial Scholars Program.
College credit is available to students in a number of courses included in the academy’s curricula. Students completing the required courses of the academy will earn the opportunity to be a part of National Academy Foundation’s national database, awarding them a preferred status with businesses that make up the foundation’s sponsor network.
The Academy of Business and Finance at North Kingstown High School is a member of DECA, the prestigious pre-professional business association for young business leaders and entrepreneurs. The academy’s DECA business club competes at all DECA competitions at state and international levels. It is at these industry competitions and other venues that the NK’s DECA business club has earned various top awards and scholarships.
